VOLLEYBALL

Maryland SportsPlex has five regulation size Volleyball courts. Four courts have a Mateflex TileFlex surface which provides excellent traction and cushioning. The fifth court is on an artificial turf surface. Upcoming volleyball events at Maryland SportsPlex include:

MDSP Youth Instructional Volleyball Program

The MDSP Youth Instructional Volleyball Program is designed to teach volleyball to 9-15 year old boys and girls who may be interested in playing in High School or joining a Club, as well as to educate and train parent volunteers that are always needed in the volleyball community. This development program includes weekly training and competition sessions.

Training sessions, which are designed and supervised by local High School and Select Club Volleyball coaches.

The Spring 2008 MDSP Youth Volleyball Fall program starts in April and ends in late May.

The MDSP Youth Volleyball Program is open to boys and girls between the ages of 9 to 15. The program is limited to 40 players in the spring 2008 session.

The program will require a few parent volunteers who want to learn how to teach, coach and assist with officiating the sport of volleyball. Parent volunteers will learn how to help run drills during the training sessions and will act as coaches and referees during simulated game competition sessions.
